Me As A Consumer Of Music

In this essay I will be describing how I am a consumer of music. I listen to many different genres such as pop and rap music. I listen to a wide range of music artists and I have a lot of favourites such as Calvin Harris (who was 10th on the most officially streamed chart) and Tinie Tempah and example. I enjoy listening to these genres because the songs are upbeat and enjoyable to listen to and they can also improve your mood and it stops you becoming bored and it is very catchy to listen to. What my friends were listening to and what got played on the radio in the car as I was growing up influenced me. This meant I got used to listening to that type of music and I started to enjoy listening to it.

I don't enjoy listening to music genres such as heavy metal and classical music. I don't like these genes because I find them boring and uninteresting to listen to I also can't understand the words that are in the songs so it does not interest me as I can't understand what it is being said and it just sounds like clouds of different sounds put together. I listen to music everyday after school or during my free lesson when I am completing word for the lessons that are coming up. I also listen to music before football because this is meant to get you up for the game and get you into the right mentality for the game. I also listen to music when I am traveling in the car as it passes the time. I often listening to music on my iPhone or iPod and sometimes watch the music channels. However I rarely ever listen to the radio because I can't control what they play and they might not play all the songs I like so there for I either listen to a cd or I Bluetooth my phone to the car to play the music so I can listen to what I choose to listen to. I don't very often physically buy music however I did buy now 92 last year which was the year’s biggest-selling compilation as domination of Official Compilations Charts. The physically brought cd market dropped by 3.9 percent. However the demand for cds are still there as 126.6 millions, however they got brought in a different way to a physical cd. CD album sales in 2015 stood at 53.6 million units, down 3.9 per cent on the year and still accounting for 66 per cent of all albums purchased in the UK. I buy a very little amount of songs and i steam majority of the music I listen to. There were 26.8 billion streams. The charts had to change there figures to included streamed music as if they done it on just what singles got brought it wouldn't truly represent what the British public was listening to so the charts started to become irrelevant until the change was made to included streams.
